FOSCA BERTRAN
A World of Colour
Karl Legerfeld fell at the feet of Fosca Bertran when in 2003 he happened to stumble upon one of her three-meter hand-painted scarves. That meeting completely changed the life of then architect Fosca, who until that point painted only as a hobby.
Born in Paris to an Italian mother and a Spanish father, Fosca studied architecture in Milan and spent part of her childhood in Ibiza. Her father's work led her to live a nomadic childhood. This continuous movement later nurtured her work, which is inspired by all the places where she's lived and the different cultures she's experienced.
Since then, Fosca has collaborated with many designers such as Balenciaga or Juanjo Oliva among others.
Her haute couture designs have become an icon. Celebrities and princesses such as Sophie Marceau, Queen Rania of Jordan, Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Eva Green, Monica Belluci, Vincent Cassel, Mick Jagger, or Lou Douillon have worn her designs.Fosca Betran's studio is in Valencia, Spain.
